Holden Beach, North Carolina

Our family vactioned at Holden Beach, North Carolina for a week in July (2003). It was Lily's first visit to the ocean, and our family's first time staying at Holden. We bought Lily a bathing suit and sunglasses that made her look like a movie star. Mark & Terri and their kids Andrew and Brooke came, as well as our Aunt Susan and cousin Hunt. Gigi and Pop rounded out the list of family (dad had a kidney stone and so mom and dad weren't there). The beach was a little too bright for Lily, even with her sunglasses. She did get to put her toes in the surf and enjoy looking at the ocean with mom. The house that we stayed in had a great porch and walkway through the dunes to the beach. Lily's favorite time of day was just before sunset, when we would go for a walk on the beach. We had a wonderful time and hope to take her back the the ocean many more times in the future.
